Chapter Philanthropy

This past year Delta Upsilon raised over $30,000 for the Alzheimer's Association. Our Vice President of Philanthropic Services, Mackenzie Stdko-Simon, and the rest of the chapter worked extremely hard to accomplish this goal. To fundraise this money we put on two Active for ALZ events, created donation pages, and hosted a grilled cheese event.

Active for ALZ

Active for ALZ is a workout class we put on for the student body. We charge students $2 a person and the class is taught by a trainer from the Missouri State recreational center. The work out classes consist of circuit workouts. Students will go from movement to movement for 30 minutes. Active for ALZ was a great way to bond with our sisters over a cause so close to our hearts. To see pictures from these events please click on the events tab.

Grilled Cheese Event

Who doesn't love a warm grilled cheese sandwich and homemade tomato soup? Each year in the spring we host a grilled cheese and tomato soup event. Students are encouraged to come to the Sigma Kappa house to enjoy all they can eat, for only $5. Our sisters run the event by serving students and helping them enter into the raffle. Local businesses help us by donating gift cards for students to win if their ticket is drawn in the raffle. To see pictures from this event please click on the events tab

Walk to End Alzheimers

Every fall Delta Upsilon walks in the Walk to End Alzheimers in Springfield, Missouri. We spend the previous fall and spring semesters creating donation pages. Each sister has their very own page that loved ones and friends can donate to. This helps our chapter reach our goal. On the day of the walk, our sisters help the participants get their registration and t- shirts, as well as pass out water bottles. When the walk starts we start at the beginning with the participants. Getting to walk with them helps us connect better to this organization. We get to hear their stories and their connections to this tragic disease. To see pictures from this event please click on the events tab
